Music
The Muses are a sisterhood of goddesses
in the Greek Pantheon who embody the arts and inspire the
creation processes with their graces through remembered and
improvised song and dance. It is from them that we get the
word "music" and inspiration when one reflects on
her artistic "muse."
I love discovering new music and reveling
in its art. Everything from jazz, fusion, blues, and progressive
rock to electronia and other abstract forms. I have written
and performed music as an artistic endeavor for 8 years now.
Starting out on the piano, I have since moved to the bass
guitar, guitar, and drums, primarily, and am open to exploring
other instruments. I am slowly developing an inchoate love-affair
with the didgeridoo.
In the past, I have performed with
several bands - including a jazz/fusion quartet from 2004
through 2006, a Southern Rock Band ("The
Regulators") throughout 2003, a hard rock band from
2000 through 2003 which was signed to Universal Polydor Records
under the name "No Curfew," (through the years,
we performed extensively throughout the Southern California
music scene and at a few national venues variously as "Black
Crown," "Forfit," and "DreamKill.")
Finally, a few noteworthy projects with friends deserves a
word: "Stanley Milgram" with Jason Rowden, a post-punk
reflection, and "The Paminals" with friends from
the UCLA co-op.
I also run a full service project
studio (Digidesign Pro Tools interface) for audio engineering,
sound design, post-production, and limited mastering. Past
recording projects and sound engineering/production credits
include: Dibuk,
The
Regulators - Bar and Grill, Best
Interest, and DreamKill.
Amidst all this, solo ventures abound
and have seeped through all the cracks of my life, reflecting
the various folds of my own growth. Chances are, you have
not heard much of the music I write for myself. I am more
than open to share, so feel free to ask. Even better, come
join me with instruments ablaze and lets make some music!
